Grades, grades, grades... a crucial component to your success as a student athlete. Key word: STUDENT- athlete. Many athletes don't take their schoolwork seriously and it can have a huge impact on not only your scholarship but your playing time. Many college programs including Gardner Webb have study hall in place to help students manage their schoolwork. Getting good grades keeps you on the field so its very important to prioritize your academics as a student athlete. The NCAA has GPA requirements that you must meet or you won't be able to participate or even remain on the team. Study hall has helped me manage my schoolwork by giving me time to focus without distractions. I highly recommend taking study hall seriously.
The mental aspect of sports is as crucial as the physical. Practice is the arena where athletes confront challenges, face setbacks, and learn to overcome adversity. It's a testing ground for mental toughness, resilience, and the ability to stay focused under pressure. The confidence gained through overcoming obstacles in practice translates directly to a player's mental fortitude during competitions. https://universitysports.com/n/balancing-sports-academics-and-your-personal-life
